KING EDWARD 2019 MATRICULANTS EXCEL

Congratulations to the Matric class of 2019 who performed admirably in their examinations. For the 7th consecutive year, KEHS achieved a 100% pass rate. This ensured that we appeared in the National Senior Certificate School Performance Report, as one of only four schools in the Eastern Cape to achieve a 100% pass rate for the past 5 years.

The exceptional Bachelors rate (Matric Exemption) of 93% reflects that 39 of our 42 learners can go to university. The other three learners achieved Diploma passes and will also be able to proceed to tertiary institutions. The quality of the results was excellent and 58 distinctions were attained.

Aleta Sibi, the Dux, brought honour to the school and district by achieving first place in the entire Eastern Cape. Her aggregate of 95% comprised the following marks: English 92%, Afrikaans 93%, Mathematics 93%, Life Orientation 98%, Physical Science 100%, Life Sciences 96% and Accounting 94%. At the glittering provincial prize-giving the other top learners in the province threw their blazers on the red carpet in recognition of this remarkable achievement.

Other top achievers from King Edward High School included Hannah Hansen who also received a full house of seven distinctions and Aditya Nair and Pabala Letuka who achieved five distinctions each. Hannah and Aditya were also invited to the Provincial Prize-giving where they received trophies and substantial bursaries, for being placed first and second in the district respectively.

King Edward High School is proud of all our Matriculants. We will continue to serve our community with distinction in 2020.
