KEHS SCOOPS 9 DISTRICT AWARDS
Once again, KEHS enjoyed the lion’s share of awards at the prestigious Alfred Nzo West District Municipality award ceremony. These included:
- Top school in Alfred Nzo West and East combined
- Top school for Maths, Science and Accounting
- Top educator in Mathematics in Alfred Nzo West – Mr B Nyathi
- Top educators in Physical Science and Accounting ANW and Alfred Nzo combined - Mr M Philip and Ms T Maphosa.
We would like to thank the municipality and Department of Education for their ongoing support and recognition of excellence.

TENNIS vs SPC
Our Tennis teams enjoyed their fixtures against St Patricks where our senior team won and junior team lost.
U9 CRICKET vs KJS
Our U9 Cricket team travelled to KJS on Tuesday. We won the toss and elected to bat first. We made 58 runs for the loss of 5 wickets after 15 overs. The best batsmen was Leshuta Parkies. KJS then batted, making our score within 13 overs. KJS won the match by 5 wickets. The boys played well and played with good team spirit.
GR 6 KEHS DAY
On Wednesday, 1 March, our Grade 6 learners had their KEHS Day. On their itinerary was the town museum and library where the learners learned about the institutions. After assisting to tidy up town, the learners ended their day at the town pool for a refreshing swim and picnic. We would like to thank the staff at the respective venues for their hospitality.
U9 CRICKET vs ST MONICAS
KEHS hosted St Monicas for a mini cricket game on Thursday. Both KEHS U9 teams won their matches. The boys had a wonderful afternoon on the field and played with great enthusiasm. Well done to the boys.
GR4 KEHS DAY
On Friday, 3 March, our Grade 4's went to the Country Club for their KEHS day. They had a picnic, went down waterslides and enjoyed a training session with Mr Harrison on study skills. The learners had a wonderful time and can't wait for their next KEHS day outing.

HS SUID NATAL SPORTS FESTIVAL
Our first sports teams had their opening games for the season at the Suid-Natal Sports Festival this past weekend.
The 1st Rugby team’s opponents, Scottburgh High School, were ready for the challenge, but soon the black and white wave of KEHS boys proved too much for the boys from the coast. KEHS walked off the field as worthy victors, 25 – 0. We extend our thanks to the opposition for playing the game in good spirit and with passion.
Our 1st Hockey team drew 0-0 against Kuswag and Creston College, but lost 1-0 against Port Shepstone.
Our 1st team Netball lost to Port Shepstone High, Kingsway High and South city before beating St Patrick's 13 - 4.
KEHS GOLF DAY
King Edward Golf day took place on Saturday, 4 March 2023. The winning team was Sicelo Jackson, Petros Nyamakazi , Loyiso Manyana and Monde Nondabula. We are grateful to our sponsors and all the golfers who participated in the splendid day.
