SP Tennis vs KJS
On Monday, 20 February, our SP tennis team competed against Kokstad Junior School. The players improved a lot and won all their matches.
HS Co-Ed Gala
We were pleased to have four of our swimmers selected to represent EG Schools in the Co-Ed swimming gala in Pietermaritzburg on the 23rd of February. We were impressed by the talent of the children and the organisation of the gala. Our swimmers participated with great enthusiasm and they were grateful for the opportunity to be invited.
Public Speaking Competition
We were delighted to host the annual Public Speaking competition on 24 February. All the learners had prepared very well and the competition was tight. O. Kwili, from King Edward High School, took the trophy for the FET phase, and J. Peters, from Focused High School, won the prize for the best GET phase speaker. O. Zimase from KEHS was runner up in the GET section. We would like to thank Focused High School, Kokstad College, and Bergview College for their impressive performances, and we would also like to extend our gratitude to Mr. Matsau for organising the esteemed adjudicators. These formidable officials took the time out of their busy schedules to represent the Department of Education at our competition and we appreciate their keen interest in the development of our learners.

SP Interschool’s Gala
The annual SP Interschool’s Gala took place on Saturday. It was an exciting and well-organised gala. The weather was favourable and our swimmers displayed great spirit and supported each other until the end. Thank you to KJS who hosted this successful event.
KC 7’s Tournament
Saturday, 25 February, saw KEHS’s u/14 and u/16 rugby teams participating in the annual KC 7’s tournament. As always the competition was good and the players had to dig deep to face the opposition. Both, u/14 and u/16 teams played their way into the tournament finals. Our boys represented our school with enthusiasm and we are proud of their sportsmanship and never say die attitude.
