JP Fun Gala
Our JP Fun Gala was held on 16 March at the town pool. Learners from Preschool to Grade 3 had the opportunity to participate in freestyle, doggy paddle, kicker board and donkey races. Much fun was had by all as we introduced our younger learners to swimming.
Gr 7 KEHS day
Our Gr 7 KEHS day was a very interesting visit to the Grootvlei Dairy Farm, on 17 March. Mrs. Botha took us on a tour of the farm and we saw how the calves are cared for from birth until they become dairy cows. We saw how technology is used to make the dairy more productive. After our tour, we all enjoyed a glass or two of creamy, cold and refreshing jersey milk. We concluded the day with a lovely picnic in the garden and a quiz to see how well we listened. We would like to thank Mrs. Botha for this informative experience.
Kuswag Sports Week
Our U13 rugby boys and hockey girls traveled to Amanzimtoti to take part in the Kuswag sports week from 21 to 24 March. The hospitality of Kuswag School and ATKV-Natalia made up for the very hot and humid conditions. The hockey girls played 8 games over the 3 days and did very well. They won 2 games, drew 4 and lost 2 with 1 goal against them each time.
The KEHS rugby boys played four games throughout the tournament. The boys had a tough first game against Odensia and won 27:10. The next opponent was the strong Heuwelland team and we lost 17:0. On the last day of the tour, we played two games. We beat the Barbarians 31:0 as well as Doonheights 22:12.
It was a fun-filled week with lots of matches, ice-skating, swimming and a visit to Croc World.
HS Rugby, Netball & Hockey vs Suid Natal
On Saturday, 25 March, we hosted Suid-Natal for a number of High School sport matches. The hard work and commitment of our netball players paid off. The opposition was strong, but our girls proved to be stronger and our shooters were on point. The U16 team won 21:14 and the 1st team won 31:16.
Although our hockey teams lost their matches, they displayed tremendous effort and played beautiful hockey. Our u16 rugby boys won their game 12:10, while the U14 and 1st teams lost. Thank you to all the spectators who came out to support our home game fixture.
