ANW District Prize-giving

It was with great pride that King Edward High School lifted the Metropolitan Trophy for Top School in the District aloft. This was the crowning glory of a day of splendid recognition where the staff of KEHS received 15 other awards for: Top academic results, best quality results, 100% pass rate for the past three years and top educators in the District for:

Sports vs Bergview College

Last week we enjoyed numerous fixtures against Bergview College. Our mini cricket teams had matches on Thursday: u/7 A won by 27 runs, u/7 B won by 31 runs, u/9 A team won by 54 runs, but the u/9 B team narrowly lost by 1 wicket. The u/11 girls’ hockey played on Monday and won their match 2-0. On Wednesday our u/13 girls’ hockey beat BVC 6-0. Our u/16 girls’ hockey beat the BVC 1st team 3-1. The u/16 netball team beat BVC 17-2 and our 1st netball team won their match 21-2.

SP Tennis vs KJS

Our SP tennis enjoyed matches against KJS on Tuesday. It was a pleasant fixture and we congratulate KJS on their victory.

E-Gala

On Thursday, our SP swimmers travelled to Bisley to participate in the E-gala. It was an enjoyable and exciting gala and we were placed fourth out of six schools.

HS Rugby vs Pinetown

Our high school rugby boys travelled to Pinetown on Saturday. Pinetown High School underestimated KEHS and arranged for us to play against their B teams. We beat them convincingly and the scores were as follows: u/14 team won 81-0, the u/16 team won 34-0 and our 1st team won 20-0.

SPC 1st Netball & Hockey Winter Sports Festival

On Saturday, our 1st netball and girls’ hockey took part in the SPC Winter Sports Festival. Both teams fared particularly well and made us proud. The 1st netball team won four of their five matches. Their scores were as follows: they beat Ixopo 21-6, St Monica’s 24-12, St Patrick’s 27-1, Bergview College 25-3 and lost to Thembalethu 9-16. The 1st girls’ hockey drew against St Patricks’ 1st team 0-0, lost 1-2 to Creston, but beat Ixopo 5-0, Bergview 1-0 and SPC 2nd team 2-0.
