The hall was resplendent in its drapery and exquisite décor; the gastronomical feast was prepared; the boom-boom contemporary music reverberated through the hall and crowds of excited spectators filled the pavilion.

Then, the long-anticipated moment arrived as a cavalcade of luxury German and antique vehicles snaked across the field spewing forth young people radiant in their finery. No expense was spared in ensuring that they stepped out in style – barely recognisable in their make-up, elaborate hairstyles manicured nails and designer outfits. Parents were dressed to the tee as well and gyrated to the music with rejuvenated vigour.

What an extravaganza of celebratory delight – a fitting culmination of 12 years of schooling.
